Medical Emergency Policy

Guidelines for handling medical emergencies, first-aid support, hospital transfers, and resident responsibilities during health crises.

Purpose

At Ashray Living, the health and safety of residents is a priority. This policy outlines the procedures and responsibilities during medical emergencies to ensure timely assistance and resident well-being.

1. Immediate Reporting

  • Residents must immediately inform the Property Supervisor, security staff, or management in case of any medical emergency.
  • Prompt reporting enables faster response and better coordination of emergency support.

2. First-Aid & Emergency Support

  • Ashray Living will provide basic first-aid assistance and emergency support whenever possible.
  • First-aid kits are available at designated locations on the property.

3. Hospital Transfer

  • If required, the resident may be shifted to the nearest hospital or medical facility.
  • Parents or guardians will be informed accordingly at the earliest opportunity.

4. Medical Expenses

  • All medical expenses, hospitalization charges, medicines, ambulance costs, and related expenses shall be borne by the resident or guardian.
  • Ashray Living does not cover medical costs arising from resident emergencies.

5. Emergency Contact Information

  • Residents are advised to keep emergency contact details and essential medical information updated with the management.
  • This includes blood group, allergies, ongoing medications, and chronic conditions.

6. Management Discretion

  • In serious emergencies, management may take immediate decisions in the best interest of the resident's safety and well-being.
  • Such decisions may include emergency hospitalization, contacting family members, or coordinating with local authorities.

7. Liability Disclaimer

  • Ashray Living shall not be held liable for medical conditions, treatments, complications, or outcomes beyond the immediate assistance provided.
  • Management assistance is limited to coordination and first-response support.

8. Personal Medical Insurance

  • Residents are encouraged to maintain personal medical insurance for unforeseen emergencies.
  • Having adequate health coverage ensures better financial protection during medical crises.

9. Resident Cooperation

  • All residents are expected to cooperate with management and emergency responders during medical situations.
  • Cooperation ensures timely assistance and safety for the affected resident and the community.
